Personality
Outwardly, T’mina does not appear to be an intensely emotional or sentimental person. She is often unaware of her own or other people's deeper feelings and emotional needs. Tears and tantrums bewilder her and make her very uncomfortable. T’mina would rather settle differences by talking things out reasonably and rationally, but she tends to ignore or dismiss any attempt to probe her own or others' inner depths.
As a full Vulcan, T’mina has a complex personality rife with internal conflict. Her stoicism is evident, but does not come easily to her. Contrary to popular belief, Vulcans are not emotionless. They feel things very strongly and must actively work to suppress them. T’mina is no exception.
Secretive and inclined to brooding silences, it is difficult for others to really know her inner core, for T’mina only trusts and opens herself to a select few. Family relationships and attachments are not as important to her as they are to most people and T’mina often considers her friends closer to her than her blood relatives.
T’mina is apt to do more than her fair share, to go the extra mile, but for the most part this is satisfying rather than burdensome to her.

History
The only child of Sperran and T’Pania, T’Mina had the typical Vulcan childhood. At the age of seven she was affianced to the man who would become her husband, Saalek.
Upon reaching the appropriate age, T’Mina took the entrance exams and went through the interview process and was selected to attend the prestigious Vulcan Science Academy. T’Mina excelled in her studies, particularly in the fields of Stellar Physics, Gravimetrics and Warp Theory. As part of her extracurricular studies she trained in Suus Mahna. After graduation, T’Mina moved on to join Starfleet, completing her coursework there she graduated with a premier distinction in Aerospace Engineering. Several years later she published a well-received paper on the effects of intersected gravimetric waves and the potential of another Delphic Expanse being created based on years of extensive research. In time she garnered the respect of her colleagues and was offered a position at the Starfleet Corps of Engineers. This was an honor and blessing as she could spend more time on Vulcan.
In the Borg Invasion of 2381, T’Mina suffered the loss of her husband as well as her parents. This triggered in her a resurgence of emotion that was difficult for her to repress. The combination of guilt and grief was difficult for her to control. She made the decision at that time to request that Starfleet assign her to an active duty vessel. T’Mina believed that travel away from her home planet and the memories that filled her mind as she walked along the avenues of Vulcana Regar was the most logical solution to aide in her processing of the loss of her loved ones.
Since that time she has served as an engineer for Starfleet. T’Mina served on a few vessels and at DS9 for several years and was recently transferred to the USS Nike when her Chief Engineer was promoted to XO.

Sample Role Play
Did she have regrets? It was illogical to dwell on things that could not be. Yet it was illogical to deny that in the time she had she failed to accomplish certain goals.
Quite the conundrum.
T’mina gazed upon her reflection as those opposing thoughts swirled around each other like opponents in a Suus Mahna match. She saw the irony all too clearly. It was that knowledge that needled away at her in these quiet moments of reflection. She had been brought up to examine everything and come to the most commonsensical conclusion based on the facts presented.
Facts.
The facts were these: She was a widowed, motherless woman. An only child. An Orphan. While she had enriched her people in her work, she had failed to add to their populace. Her studies revolved around the procreation of multiple species; the genetic and cultural bonds that form when new life is brought into the universe. The impact that heritage has on said lives as they head out and make a way for themselves.
Now here she sat in a quiet room staring blankly at her reflection.
Alone.
