Personality
Evangeline is someone who’s focused and driven with a ‘go for it’ attitude. She’ll throw herself into a task wholeheartedly, regardless of how challenging it seems. Her zest for life shines through in her vivacious nature and witty sense of humor.
History
Evangeline was born the only child of a pair of brilliant Aerospace Engineers stationed aboard Deep Space 5 working on the latest innovations on Federation Starships. Her parents doted on her and she adored them. The experience of growing up around such amazing technology fueled her infatuation with engineering. Her parents could not have been more thrilled than when their little girl expressed an interest in following in their footsteps. Life on the station had its ups and downs. At times it could be extremely boring and Evangeline had to use every ounce of imagination to keep herself entertained. Other times, living in the environment she did brought excitement and danger.
At the age of thirteen, Evangeline was involved in an incident with the Borg. Thankfully a team was able to recover her before her assimilation into the hive. That event impacted her profoundly, fueling her resolve to enter Starfleet and receive the training that would help to protect herself and others like her from going through this terrifying experience.
Evangeline’s time at the academy was some of the most thrilling and rewarding years of her life. It was the first time she spent an extended period of time living on a planet and around so many of her peers. It was a time of great self-discovery. She learned that she had a natural affinity for flight and although she was encouraged to pursue a career down that avenue, her first love was engineering. Evangeline’s competitive nature led her to participate in many different extracurricular activities. She competed on the Academy’s Parrises Squares team and was selected to be a member of one of the elite flight squadrons who went on to win the Rigel Cup her senior year. Eva graduated with academic degrees in engineering and astrophysics and was assigned to serve aboard the USS Nike.

Sample Role Play
Evangeline saw a brief glimmer out of the corner of her eye as she stood manning her console in main engineering. Turning her head to see what it was her heart dropped into her chest as her eyes fell upon three Borg. ‘No,’ she thought. They must have beamed aboard when the shields were down. She had to think fast. Evangeline knew the drones would begin to assimilate them if they did not take action.
Suddenly someone opened fire somewhere behind her. She spun around to see another group of Borg. They were planning to take engineering. Panic began to well up inside her as flashes from her past flooded her mind. She would not be taken again. Death or escape were her only options.
Fighting broke out on all sides and Evangeline crouched down to the floor, taking cover behind the console. She watched as an officer fired upon the trio of drones to her side. One dropped to the ground as the other two continued their assault. Evangeline with phaser in hand fired at the other two, but it was no use the drones had adapted. Her weapon was no longer effective against them.
The other officer had tried to engage them in hand to hand combat and had met an untimely and brutal end. Evangeline had to think quickly before they turned their attentions on her. Scanning the room, Evangeline searched for a route and then made a mad dash for the ladder that led to the upper level. She knew that if she could keep ahead of the slow paced drones she may have a fighting chance. Reaching the ladder she began to climb, but about half way up she felt a robotic hand clamp down on one of her legs. Hanging on to the rungs for dear life she repeatedly pummeled the head of the drone with the heel of her free leg until she managed to pull herself free and then scurried the rest of the way up the ladder.
The drone was still hot on her heels. She ran down the catwalk trying to find what she was looking for. Her mind was racing and heart pounding as she came to a halt when she spotted exactly what she needed. Rushing over to the console she quickly began the reconfiguration process while darting her head over to the approaching Borg.
"You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile."
“I don’t think so buddy.” Waiting until it was close enough; Evangeline set the console to overload and ran toward the Jefferies tube for cover. She dove into the tube as the explosion erupted consuming the drone. The resulting blast arched and came slamming into her leg sending her crashing against the side of the tube, dislocating her shoulder and severely burning the majority of her right leg. Evangeline did her best to pull herself into the cover of the tube before passing out from the excruciating pain.
