Evangeline awoke with a mission. She had spent some time in her quarters the night before, going over the events of the day and putting things into perspective. She replicated a pen and paper and began to sketch her ideas down as a way to relieve her troubled mind. Somehow the action of writing with those rudimentary implements had released her pent up tension and sparked her creativity.
This morning she grabbed a quick bite to eat and then set off, design in hand, to the arboretum Directors office. Eva was granted a meeting and presented her request along with her sample. She had prepared her speech and was pleased with herself when she delivered it flawlessly. The Director seemed to embrace the concept and went through the proper channels to get Eva’s request approved.
With approval in hand, Eva moved forward and had her design replicated in bronze and then rushed to mount it. After fixing it to the back of the bench she took a step backward to admire her work.

Evangeline grinned from ear to ear. It had turned out even better than she had planned. Leaning forward she ran her fingers over the dedication plaque. Nodding in approval, Evangeline took a deep breath and then sat down on ‘her bench’. “Mission accomplished,” she said to herself.
Eva sat for a while looking at her rose feeling very proud of herself. It was the little things that made a difference. No one may ever give this bench or it’s plaque a second look. But that didn’t matter to Evangeline. It had been important to her and now it was done.
After a few minutes Eva got up and began to make her way out. Her shift was starting soon and she was sure that her new CE had plenty of work for her and the team to get done. Looking back over her shoulder at the bench she gave it a little wave and whispered to herself, “I’ll see you later.”
