First character for me (Crimea River).
Character's Name: S'Valram Psc'hmai M'Ral
Age: 38
Gender:
Race: Romulan/Vulcan Hybrid
Physical Profile:
He stands at 5'8", and has a slender build which betrays his true physical strength. He looks like a healthy Romulan, albeit with ears that are more pointed, and slightly softer brow-ridges. His hair is black, and his eyebrows are upswept; his eyes are a dark brown. His skin is slightly greenish in hue, and his copper-based blood is green. He appears to be younger by human standards than he is, though this is typical due to his species' aging. He rarely is seen out of uniform, but when he is, he usually wears simple and comfortable clothing.
Birthplace: Vulcan
Preferred rank: Lieutenant Commander
Department: Security - Chief of Security
Personality:
In his personality, the true nature of blended culture is seen. While he follows the Vulcan teachings of logic and most of the time has complete control over his emotions, he doesn't always suppress his emotions, sometimes using them to make decisions. He can be a very, very calm person under pressure. He doesn't suppress his passion - it is part of who he is. His greatest inspiration is Spock, who attempted to unite the Romulans and the Vulcans years, and managed to create a movement that he hopes still flourishes.
His greatest aspiration is for the Romulans the Vulcans to be once again united – and this does not mean the Star Empire occupying Vulcan, but for unity between them, and peace with the Federation. Due to the Federation's current relationship with the Federation, he believes that just about anything is possible. He is dedicated to Starfleet, and vows never to betray them, or the Vulcan people.
M'Ral is a very tough person. For a part-Romulan to pursue a career in Starfleet was never an easy task - and he hopes that his success will lead to great things.
He despises the Borg with a passion. Nothing will ever sway this opinion.
Background and History:
His father was, Jorek, a Romulan who believed that Vulcans and Romulans should unite. He had to flee Romulus, and made his way to Vulcan, with Ambassador Spock supporting him. There, he married a woman named T'Vela - a Starfleet Science Officer - and the two had a son, whom they gave they name M'Ral - a Romulan name - to. His surname would be T'Vela's family name: S'Valram Psc'hmai. He was taught the ways of both cultures by both of his parents, and of course they shared the hope that someday their cultures would be united. To Jorek, M'Ral was a symbol for that future unity.
As soon as he was old enough M’Ral applied for Starfleet Academy, and was accepted. In the Academy, he dealt with a lot of prejudice - many people had lost family or friends to the Romulans, and some tended to take it out on him. But M'Ral managed to shield his emotions when this happened, and toughened himself. His ability to deal with great amounts of pressure led him to choosing the Security path, in addition to his skill in fighting - both hand-to-hand and with a weapon or tactical station.
After graduation, he was assigned to Deep Space 4; he worked there for many years, before a transfer to a space ship, the USS Gallant, where he showed his prowess with combat, and his ability to keep the crew of the ship safe. After many years and some promotions, M'Ral - former Secondary Assistant Chief of Security of the USS Gallant - was transferred to the USS Nike, and served as its Assistant Chief of Security. During the attack, he managed to survive sustaining minor injuries, and saved a number of the crew. Unfortunately the Chief of Security at the time did not survive.
After they reached Utopia Planitia, Lieutenant M'Ral was promoted to Lieutenant Commander and given a medal thanks to his actions, and was told that he would serve as the Chief of Security on the USS Nike. Regardless, the loss of lives on the ship affected him somewhat - but he remained fit for duty.

Sample Roleplay:
Ensign M'Ral noticed Lieutenant Junior-Grade Kevala placing her hand to her head, as if she had a headache or she was overwhelmed by something. But it was only momentarily, and she looked fine afterwards. Besides, there was another here who was more than capable of helping her if she was ill; that was Lieutenant Larson who instantly showed concern in asking her if she was alright. And as he suspected, she was fine.
The Suliban, Lieutenant Bijen, looked more confident than Chief Torrik and Ensign Cemmelon. That was...admirable. And expected of a Security Officer. "Everyone have a pleasant journey here?" Bijen asked.
The Operations officer, Cemmelon, replied first. It could be understandable that transports weren't the most...desirable...ways of getting around. Probably worse would be Klingons, but he'd probably be too busy dealing with them to even think about their smell. He had gotten to the point where, generally, it didn't matter how he travelled, just that he got to his destination safely. "I got where I needed to go. It was satisfactory," he said simply. He was sure they were all thinking about how this was a typical Vulcan response...though he didn't mind. He was, after all, part Vulcan and had been raised in that way.
Suddenly, another man entered, mentioning a party. I was not aware of any party, he thought. He glanced up at the man, taking in his features; if he was not mistaken, it was the young Lieutenant Commander Kosake Wu, Chief of Operations. After an introduction that confirmed M'Ral's memory as correct, he suddenly became very withdrawn, however, after seating himself without asking if they wanted him to join, though M'Ral understood that different people thought differently about what was respectful and what wasn’t and that he would not get onto anyone about something simple like that especially since they were off-duty.
"Ensign M'Ral, Security Officer," he replied. Deciding to speed things up so that people could actually socialise rather than introduce each other over and over – this was quite a growing crowd, though that was of no inconvenience to him – he gave the names of each of them, having recalled them both from files and their introduction here. "Lieutenants Bijen, Karol, and Torrik, Ensign Cemmelon, and Lieutenant Junior Grade Kevala." As he gave each name, he motioned to them.
Notes:
- Hopefully you do not mind the mention of Spock. M'Ral is not related to Spock.
- If this idea does not work, I have an Andorian (Mundjeela th'Lkar), Cardassian (Simarel Kell), or Vulcan (Sotak) that I would be able to use.
- If you need me to do so, I'll make the sample relate to his posting on the Nike.
- Would like it if his full name isn't added to my display name - just Lieutenant Commander M'Ral. Lol.
- If him receiving an award isn't allowed, please let me know.
- Looking forward to RPing on here!
