Evadne Engineering [Vaughn, McAdams]

==MISSION===

Under the watchful eye of the portly Evadnian, Squan, Eva is to repair the city's shield, which has been fluctuating for an unknown reason.

[Lt. Commander Tricia McAdams]

Tricia motioned to Eva to follow Squan through the square. He was leading them toward a larger oval building toward the center of the town.

Tricia followed behind to keep an eye on her charge. She pulled out a tricorder running various scans on their way gathering whatever data she could with their limitations.

He lead them into the building and then into a room with control panels and quite a few things that Tricia had no concept of. There were lights flashing and readouts with graphs and schematics all in a language that bore no resemblance to anything she'd ever seen.

Lucky she had Eva there to figure it all out and repair the city's shield. If she could do that, it would go a long way toward major good will with the locals.

Squan said in a very firm voice "I will be back shortly, please stay in this room."

Tag Eva

[Lt. JG Evangeline Vaughn]

Evangeline followed along with the group, keeping her head down, ears open and mouth closed. She was nervous and did not want to do anything to draw unwanted attention to herself or jeopardize the mission in any way. If the rumors she heard about these people holding the key to some sort of repellent to the Borg were true, than Eva was all for it and would do whatever the hell they wanted to get the information from them. Having suffered, first hand, the terror of the assimilation, she knew more than most what this could mean to the Federation.

As they were given their tasks, Eva broke off and walked along side Tricia as they followed Squan through the square toward what appeared to be a maintenance facility and into the most antiquated control room she had ever seen outside of her historical engineering coursework. Moving slowly around the room, she began examining the machinery and getting a feel for the layout. Once Squan took his leave she pulled out her engineering tricorder and began taking readings. As she reviewed her readings she asked over her shoulder to Tricia, “Your tricorder wouldn’t happen to be equipped with a translation matrix? If we could decipher their language I could get these repairs done a heck of a lot faster.”
