Personality
If someone was to actually stay around and talk to Wes they would find that he is a very respectful person, he will not say anything without thoroughly thinking it through first. He is also very careful with his actions, whether it is watching his behavior or what he does during a situation. They would also find that his is very quiet and reserved, although there are moments when he will go out of his way and socialize with other beings. If one person was to really get to know him as a person they would find that he is a caring person.
When on the job he is very stern and takes no nonsense or excuses from anyone, unless of course they are a higher rank than himself. And will keep his comments to himself unless they really get him frustrated. He is also the kind of person who makes sure a job is done correctly the first time, even personally making sure the job gets done. Because he has a bionic arm, he easily becomes depressed, feeling useless or even angry when someone mentions about it and why he should not be a Marine.
If he had any hobbies, it would be that he enjoys horseback riding, boxing and swimming.

History
Wes was born to two parents, of an unknown background and was immediately put up for adoption. But instead of being put into a permanent home, he found himself being shuttled between families and never staying in one place for too long. He started to feel that he did not belong anywhere, finding himself being sent to almost all the parts of Australia until one foster family decided that they wanted to adopt him instead of fostering. Finally settled in Sydney, Australia. He was enrolled into a new school, at first he had a hard time adjusting to his new school, often getting into fights until a teacher put a firm hand down. Wes was one day put on out of school suspension after being provoked to hit another student. A month later he was put back into the same school, but this time he was different. He was more reserved and tolerant to a certain level, and to make sure he behaved Wes was put into a military training program through the school.
But because Wes's behavior was not really on the mends, he was sent to bootcamp by his adoptive father and spent a good three months there during the summer and early part of fall before he returned home, during his time in boot camp Wes became specialized in two forms of martial arts, and discovered horseback riding. A hobby that he will put into use for the rest of his life for as long as he shall live, at the same time he found swimming and boxing to be enjoyable sports as well. Wes came home as a different young man, having learned how to put his pent up energy to use as well as respect for authority. But with it there was a significant improvement with his grade levels at school. It was official when he graduated high school that he was no longer the same young man that kept on getting into trouble.
Instead of going to college, Wes decided to join the Marines. He had no idea why, but all he knew was that was where he wanted to go and be. He claimed to his adopted mother that it was because Marines treat each other as though they are a family, the one thing that he has not come to know about because he really did not bond well with his adopted parents. He completed his training, losing connection with his adopted parents along the way for an unknown reason. He left training with the rank of Corporal and went straight to signing up in the Star Fleet. At the same time he tried again to get in contact with his adopted parents but like the first time, the second time failed. So Wes decided to stop trying to get a hold of them and simply moved on.
He was assigned to the USS Arnold after he signed on and found the work in space to not always be fun. But knew that he had to live with the decision that he made and continued to work in the space section of the Marines. Some excitement did happen when he was on a planet for a diplomatic mission and was doing his job when they were suddenly attacked. Wes personally made sure that the diplomat was safe. In the end it costed him his forearm of his right arm which was replaced by a bionic arm. Wes was taken out of service for while he recovered from the injury and to readjust to his new arm. He could say that he is somewhat adjusted to his new limb, but does suffer from some depression from time to time. Mostly when he breaks something or hurts someone when he used his bionic arm for anything.
He has just been recently assigned to the USS Nike, which has made Wes's world become a whole lot better because he can finally work and keep his mind off of what happened on the USS Arnold.

Sample Role Play
Wes punched the bag in front of him with all the strength he could gather in his left arm, then stood back for a minute or two to allow the feeling in his hand to come back before putting his hands up and standing there for a minute before taking a swing with his left hand again, then another two before smacking the punching back lightly with his right. He could have hit it harder but he really did not want to be known for just being transferred to the USS Nike for the first time and already busting a piece of machinery. The man took a deep breath as he stepped away from the machine that was holding the punching bag up and pressed a button. Wes watched for a minute or two as the machine tucked the punching bag away before turning around and walking back to the changing room.
Wes was soon changed back into his uniform and was going to head to the Colonel to see if there were any new developments since the Master Sergeant went on his break, which he spent time working out then heading to the cafeteria for food. Wes was not feeling hungry anyways. The Sergeant was making his way down the hallway when he heard about a mysterious beacon being found. As well as how there was an attempt to bring the beacon on board but were not able to grab it with a beam to bring it on board. The Sergeant purposely stopped at the corner to listen to the officers some more before running off to the lift to take him down to the level of the Cargo Bay.
He jammed his thumb into the button and eagerly waited for the lift doors to open before almost literally jumping inside and pressing one of the buttons beside the door. Which slid shut before going down. Wes stood there thinking what he learned while eavesdropping on the officers. Not that he was the whole time. The Sergeant looked up to the doors as they slid open. Taking a deep breath he spotted the Colonel and jogged over to him, "I'm sorry sir, I heard that a beacon has been found. Is there anything you need me to do at all sir?" Wes asked as he quickly caught his breath.

Wes was put up for adoption immediately after he was born, he does not know if he has any siblings or if his parents are still alive. All he does know about is that he has two adopted parents that seem to have either purposely or accidentally cut him off after he left for training before enlisting. If Wes happens to have any living relatives, he does not know they exist or if they are dead or alive. He sometimes wonders about them, but then does not really care if he has family of not. [/ul]
