Nick sat in his office working through reports with a cup of tepid coffee at his elbow. When they docked at Earth and basically swapped out half the crew there were a lot of records that required updating. Both incoming and outgoing crew members records were exchanged with Starfleet and updates made to the roster and exam schedules.
A light began flashing in the corner of his screen to let him know he'd been at it for a full hour and needed to get up and move around. So he picked up his cup and headed out into Sickbay to check on the status of the single patient then currently had.
Moving to the replicator he refreshed his cup and carried it with him to examine the Ensign. He hadn't kept him here over night for much more than just an inconvenience. This particular young man had a history of coming into Sickbay frequently for a variety of injuries mostly having to do with crazy acrobatics in the Holodeck. Hopefully this time the broken wrist would make him think twice before jumping off tall buildings... even holographic ones.
"Well Ensign Beck, how's the wrist feeling," he said and sipped his hot coffee.
"Its a little sore," said the red head. "How much longer do I have to stay?"
"I'll release you right now with the proviso that you don't go into a holodeck for a week. Understood?"
"Yes, sir," the kid said with a grin and swung his feet over the side of the bio bed.
A nurse passed the appropriate PaDD to the doctor and Nick put his cup down long enough to sign the release.
"No Holodeck," he said again as he walked away.
