►History◄
Chloe comes from a life of privilege in the south of France, her Grandmother is the matron of the family conglomerate. The entire family expected her to go into the "family business" and have repeatedly attempted talking her out of her obsession with flying a Starship. But from a very young age she was fascinated by the stars and all stories she could find and read about adventures in space. She was most fascinated with the adventures of the Voyager crew in the Gamma quadrant.
When she attended Starfleet Academy it was a bit of a culture shock not having someone pickup after her and took a little while before she got the hang of taking care of herself. But even then she knew how to study and excelled in her chosen field.
USS Zephyr was her first assignment out of the academy. She sailed on that ship until its crew was merged with another and placed aboard another ship in the Gamma Quadrant.
As a helmsman on the USS Talon she served on many away missions including the rescue of some colleagues and being marooned with another officer on a primitive planet for months before they were finally rescued. The result of that experience left her pregnant and in an uncertain position with her child’s father. She was torn when her transfer orders arrived from Starfleet and she was promoted, given a medal, and made Chief Helmsman of the USS Nike. She could do nothing but accepted the honors and move ahead with her career. She hopes one day to be reunited with Devereaux's father.
►Sample Role Play◄
"I- He's one lucky little guy,"
She looked down at her sons face allowing her hair to hide her face and the hurt in her eyes. “Yes,” she said. She knew better than most the emotions that stood in the back of his eyes. It was a known fact that the female of the species was far better equipped by nature to read the emotions of those around her. What she’d seen in Van’s eyes was panic.
Primitive females needed that ability in order to survive and her own primitive brain had spent the better part of a year getting a workout on that miserable planet. Both of them had nearly lost their lives. And now, after she’d done the hardest work in her life, there should have been joy…
"Rest," he said. "I need to go check on a few things and I'll be back in a bit."
She nodded and tried to smile. “Sure,” she said and listened to him go and the voices in the other room muffled by the privacy screen.
She couldn’t stop the silent tears that ran down her face. The one moment she’d needed him there the most… he’d abandoned her. Oh sure he’d covered with checking on something or other, but the Captain had relieved him of duty for the next week.
What a fool she’d been, glossing over the signs, hoping against hope that when the moment came they’d be the picture of the happy family from the holovids. She’d wanted that ending so badly she’d just created the fiction in her own head.
But no.
First Sig had stolen her joy of the moment with the news about her son’s possible future. Then the man she loved obviously had reservations about _her_. She didn’t know how she was going to cope with this one. But she was strong like all the women in her family were strong.
The nurse came bustling into her room with a PaDD before she could go farther down that road. “Let’s give the little guy a change shall we?”
Chloe almost snorted but handed over the baby. What was it about nurses and their penchant for the plural when they were doing all the work themselves?
“Time for him to eat again,” she smiled and Chloe nodded after he was handed back to her. She did as she’d been shown the first time and tried to think peaceful and happy thoughts.
The nurse hadn’t missed the streaks on her face though and brought a warm cloth for her to wash her face while the baby nursed. She even felt a little better after she’d had a chance to refresh a little. She was given a sympathetic pat and a smile. Chloe imagined the woman just figured she was going through some kind of reaction to the childbirth and she didn't feel the need to change her mind. After she was confident the young mother didn't need her the nurse exited.
Chloe immersed herself the experience and flow of love for her son. Along the way something inside changed. She couldn’t put it into words but something was different. When he’d finished and fallen asleep again, she slid her legs over the side of her bed and put Devereau into his little bed.
“I have a beautiful room just for you,” she said softly and held his tiny fingers with one of hers. “I promise I’ll always be here for you.”
“Always,” she repeated as she lay back down in her bed. Exhaustion finally overcame her as she repeated her promises to her son.
She meant every word.
