==Mission===

To gain more information about the alien physiology. Is it the reason they are resistant to the Borg assimilation process? Minimal intrusion. Follow the orders of the physician Tarfor. Volunteers have been chosen to allow physical exams.

[Commander Nicholas Grant]

He stepped forward to follow the Physician Tarfor. They were led across the common area at the center of town with several volunteers in tow. The assigned physician took them into a nearby building that seemed to be a warehouse that had been set up to receive them. There were tables, chairs, and a few beds. He couldnt' be certain if the beds were for them or their patients. Nick didn't begin to start any examinations until they seemed to get a positive nod from Tarfor.

A young man walked up to him and simply stood in front of him. So Nick took out his tricorder and as he proceeded he explained what he was doing all the time he was taking his readings. The majority of the readings he got simply showed him a very healthy young man. Other than a rather badly healing cut on his forearm. Nick smiled and took out his dermal re-generator applying it to the wound. He suppressed his grin as the man's eyes opened as he watched the cut heal before his eyes.

Comparing the readings he had taken to the human standard norm he followed up with additional scans of areas that seemed to differ slightly.

He went back again to take another scan of the brain and found some rather odd readings with regards to several glands and the red nucleus in the brain which seemed to have more definite connectivity to the spinal structure than is evident in Humans. He'd need to do some analysis of the material but he really wasn't the researcher on the team. He was a surgeon.

He thanked the young man and took the data he'd collected so far to enter into the minicomputer they'd brought for the purpose.

He looked up and smiled at the group of 'volunteers' and said "Next."

Vlad found a chair in a location where he would be out of the way. He pulled a PADD out of his jacket and began looking through information from the other teams as they went about their missions. A bit here, a bit there. Just basic information at this point. Tarfor kept moving closer and closer to him and Vlad chuckled at the transparency of the action. Putting the PADD away, he looked over at the man, who quickly found somewhere else to focus his own eyes.

"I thought you were going to provide more than just this little handful of volunteers," Vlad said.

Tarfor took that as an opportunity to walk closer, "there will be more later. They have business to attend to first, then they will come here."

Vlad nodded. Obviously Evadne didn't take a holiday when the Federation was in town. He saw Nick pull out a dermal regenerator. Noting the wide-eyed look of the patient, Vlad motioned to Tarfor. "You might want to watch this," he said.

Tarfor looked around, confused, until Vlad pointed to Nick. The town doctor quickly moved over to watch. When Nick was done, and said "next", Tarfor stepped up and lifted his shirt, exposing a large wound on the side. It had been tended to properly within the limits of his expertise, but if these aliens could heal it fully... "I will allow you to treat me," he said.

Phoebe had positioned herself near Nick and was busy with the exams of the few volunteers that had shown up when Vlad came in. He seemed as disappointed in the turn out as she was. Finishing up on the most current volunteer, she smiled and very politely thanked them for their willingness to help. Taking some time she reviewed their results thus far. There seemed to be a few key areas that showed signs of differing physiology. The scans that they had obtained from the tricorders were not very conclusive. Phoebe went over to her bag to retrieve the Detronal scanner. Using this scanner she would be able to collect and analyze the DNA directly. They would have a much more accurate reading for their research.

As she grabbed the scanner, she noticed Tarfor lifting his shirt and the large wound on his side. Grabbing the dermal regenerator, she walked over to Nick and held it out to him with a slight smile on her face. Now these people would have an opportunity to see just what sort of things we can accomplish for them.
