His eyes moved occasionally to Tricia. That hair! He wanted to run his fingers through it and they twitched at the thought. Then, some tall, obviously handsome human walked in and he saw her gaze follow the man across the room. Sighing slightly, he saw the writing on the wall.
"Everyone enjoying themselves?"
Distracted, Vhatter just nodded.
“But don’t ask, don’t tell is a pretty good policy in my mind.”
He smiled at Fau and watched as her tail disappeared, only to sneak around his friend's leg. He gave Pesh a sly wink.
“I am so glad we will share this journey together. I shall tell you the tale a bit later my friend.”
Vhatter chuckled. He would look forward to that. He missed swapping stories with the big guy. As he listened to Pesh'ewa's speech, the couldn't help but feel the tiniest bit of jealousy. The small touches, the intent gazes, all spoke of something Vhatter hadn't had since-- He balled his hand into a fist and let it go quickly, hoping no one saw the act. She was the past. He had moved on. Yet... a piece of him would always be out there somewhere. He hoped she was safe, and he hoped that his--
Suddenly, he was covered in punch.
“Glad I wasn’t standing there.”
Wiping his face, he regarded the Bajoran in silence for a moment. "Hm," he replied. "Anyone got a towel?" How big of a swallow had the Caitian tried to take, anyway? Vhatter felt as if he had been doused by an entire punchbowl. Sticky. Sweet. "I had not intended to smell like fruit tonight, Buddy," he said to Pesh, "is this some sort of Caitian celebration ritual?" His bare head glistened with the festive fluid.
