Sin was reading the report that came in from the Security Chief when she caught a glimpse of someone in yellow approaching. As she lifted her gaze she felt her stomach churn at the smile coming from an Orion. It was not this particular Orion that caused that reaction. Sin had a bad history with women of this race and upon seeing the verdigris flesh she was instantly reminded of her last encounter. It had been wholly inappropriate on the part of the Orion and sent Sin into a rather embarrassing oration – embarrassing for the Orion, not herself.
"Lieutenant Frost? Lieutenant Marina Tarr engineering. Science team have any updates that my people in yellow need to know?”
Tarr. Sin thought for a moment as she tried to employ some mnemonic for remembering the Orion’s name. ‘The Egoist’, she recalled. The novelist Wyndham Lewis wrote a modernist novel about a man named Tarr who displayed disdain for the 'bourgeois-bohemians' around him, and vowed to 'throw off humour' which he regarded as a 'means of evading reality' unsuited to ambition and the modern world.
Strange how she could recall all that, but names eluded her.
Right. The Egoist had a question.
“I just reviewed a report that has been transmitted by our Security Chief with respect to the possibility of biogenic radiation. Until we have access to the device it will be impossible to delineate the nature of these emissions or their potential impact on the vessel or her crew.”
Tag: Marina, Any
OOC: Sin has a horrible time remembering names of people. As a result, please do not be surprised or offended when she comes up with a nickname for a character. It is not meant as a slight – it is simply a reflection of her personality.
Nickname Key: ‘The Egoist’ = Marina Tarr
