Tricia kept her eyes closed the light still hurt her head. She'd taken a pretty nasty head injury when the blast had leveled everything in the cargo bay and she still felt it. There were times when she wished she could keep them closed and the other pain would just go away too. They'd lost too many, even one was too many. It didn't matter that she'd done all she could it wasn't enough, she should have found a way to do more. This time she was here with a broken arm though.
"if you continue to refuse pain relievers, the doctor will, um... ...er... insert medication in you where the sun doesn't shine."
She couldn't help the burst of laughter "ha ha ha" even though it hurt like hell.
She opened one eye and turned in their direction.
"I think you might not want to fight this..."
"He's probably right you know." she said. Looking down at her arm she could see they'd already mended it. Everything seemed to work just fine when she flexed her fingers and moved her hand around.
"Imagine finding Star in sickbay, it's gotta be a cliche by now. Good to know some things never change." he'd been the way even back at the Academy. Of course she wasn't any better running the Borg scenario over and over in the holodeck trying other things to keep Lt. Commander Loftin from taking those initial nanos from the Borg. Her reaction time just wasn't fast enough from where she had to start.
She looked around and didn't see his stasis pod so he'd probably been transported to Starfleet Medical. She sighed. Her own actions had put her out of commission and she knew she'd probably catch it. She was beating herself up and she knew it.
"I could use some of that when you're done there" she didn't recognize the medic but there were new people every day. Not the cozy little Carolina anymore, she was on one of the big boys. She shifted the sheet off her leg and lifted it to take a look too. Nice bruise just clearing up from green to yellow.
With a slap against her thigh she tucked the foot back under the cover.
"And I'd like to get out of here myself."
